broadcast during the CBS Evening News, April 4, 1968.
This advertisement features Frank Sinatra (left) and Ed McMahon (right) as two army Cavalry guys (ca. 1879) who have tortured by "Indians" (i.e Native Americans) evidently because the gold they were digging up turned out to be quartz. Furthermore, the Indians have left cold beers just out of reach to torture them further. Ed and Frank muse about being rescued by other Cavalry guys on their way to "Custer's Last Stand"...
Imagine just having listened to news of Martin Luther King's Assassination and the excerpts of King speaking followed by this commercial...
